Welcome to my 2Bits on this week’s 205 Live. I don’t think they announced anything for tonight. I don’t remember anything anyway so going in wild.
We open with a clip from earlier today where Enzo is having a Thanksgiving dinner with the ‘Zo Train (minus Gulak). He tells them that he got them all matches tonight against the guys that interrupted (and beat) them on Raw. He lets then know that if they win, he might give a recommendation for them to get an opportunity at the Cruiserweight Championship.
Enzo asks where Gulak is. Apparently he’s making another Powerpoint presentation. Please let that be true. Enter the Gobbledy Gooker stage left. Surprise, it’s actually the Gobbledy Gulaker. He asks how Enzo is doing. Enzo isn’t impressed.
Gulak has a mic, yes. We get a Powerpoint chant. Gulak tells them that there is no chanting. They want the Powerpoint but they don’t appreciate it’s messages. Gulak says that since he’s with Enzo now, he’s practically from the streets and he’s gonna clean up the streets by stopping Tozawa’s Ah’s. He’s prepared a motherfucking Powerpoint Presentation about it.
Nooooo, Tozawa interrupts before we can get it. Goddamnit. Gulak is wearing jeans with kneepads over them for this streetfight. He normally doesn’t wear kneepads at all. Why wear them now? Tozawa goes for his suicide dive but Gulak stops it and instead suplexes him on the ramp. Gulak targeting the jaw and throat of Tozawa. Following up on what he did a few weeks ago.
We now have a “No Chants” chant. Will they ever learn? Gulak uses the No Chants sign on Tozawa then takes out some steel chairs. He sits Tozawa down on one and then slaps him. That was it. Great use of chairs right there. Gulak sets the sign up in the corner and tries to throw Tozawa into it. Tozawa counts it and backdrops Gulak into the sign breaking it. Not the No Chants sign. Anything but that. Crowd chanting for tables. Tozawa obliges. Gulak cuts him off before he can set it up and sets it up himself instead.
Tozawa rolls to the outside, Gulak follows, and Tozawa ends up hitting Drew with a Canonball Senton off the table. The crowd chant “205”. First time i’ve ever heard that. This Houston crowd have been great all weekend. Tozawa grabs a Kendo Stick and a trashcan from underneath the ring. They do keep the strangest things under there. He puts the trash can over Gulak and starts beating it with the Kendo Stick. Gulak ends up on the table, still suited in trash can attire. Tozawa goes to the top rope and hit him with the Senton for the win.
That was a great match. I really enjoyed it. This feud has been going on for ages and this felt like a blowoff match for it. Add a little stipulation to a match and it changes the game.
We get a video package for Hideo Itami who is joining 205 Live soon. I’m very happy about this. Hideo is awesome and injuries screwed his pushes in NXT. Hopefully he stays injury free on 205 Live and takes that title off Enzo.
We cut to the back and Enzo and the lads are tucking into their Thanksgiving dinner. They chant about Hideo Itami saying that if he is smart, he will join the ‘Zo Train. Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali come up and throw some insults at them before leaving. Enzo tells his minions that they need to rep his brand and Tony is now on deck. Tony takes a big bite out of a Turkey leg and off he goes.
Nese showing off those 8 reasons. Ali dives off the top rope to the outside onto Nese. Small “No Fly Zone” chant from the crowd. People are starting to get on board with my Gulak loving. Nese dropping Ali on the announce table. Ali has some really nice transitions between moves.
Ali goes for the 054 but Nese slides under the bottom rope and throws Ali headfirst into the post through the ropes. Nese then hits the for the Running Kneese for the win.
Cut to the back and Enzo is happy. Dar & Daivari say they are gonna beat the lads later. Enzo says he will be sitting ringside for this. He says they will show them that the ‘Zo train isn’t an embarrassment. Unlike some people on it. He points at Gobbledy Gulaker in the corner in timeout. Gulak asks if he can leave timeout as he forgot to go to the jacks before he put the costume on. I’m paraphrasing here. Enzo says no and that he needs to think about what he’s done.
Daivari, Dar and Enzo make their entrance and Enzo has a mic of course. Just gets his schtick done, nothing else. Match starts and the crowd are chanting “Shut Up Enzo”. I agree Houston. I agree. And he just keeps going and going. I zoned out for most of the match to be honest. I just auto zone out when Enzo is talking and he never shut up for the entire thing. From the bits I did catch, it seemed good though.
I started paying attention again towards the end. Enzo got involved a couple of times and almost cost Swann the match crotching him on the top rope and ending up with a Frog Splash. He then distracted the ref before he could count a pin on Dar. Cedric gets in Enzo’s face and gets taken out with a Baseball Slide by Dar. This results in Dar getting kicked in the face when he gets back in and Swann finishes him off with a Phoenix Splash.
Enzo and Daivari attack straight after the bell rings. Them and a revitalised Dar beat down on Swann and Alexander until Tozawa and Ali come down to make the save. Tozawa kinda skipped down the ramp for some reason. No idea why. That’s gotta be giffed already somewhere. They get cut off before they can make the ring by Gulak and Nese.
The ‘Zo Train destroy all the faces ending with Enzo giving a Bada Boom Shakalaka to Swann and Alexander assisted by the rest of the ‘Zo Train. They then all do Enzo’s stupid dance. Enzo gets on the mic and asks them How they doin?
Interesting way to end 205 Live with the Zo’ Train coming out on top. I’m assuming they are gonna do something similar next week except Itami will make the save. It felt like it was going that way tonight so it makes sense anyway.
