Smackdown Live Recap Nov 21st

Smackdown Live Novermber 21st

Well, after getting spanked by RAW at Survivor Series, Smackdown Live has some soul searching to do! But we kick off with my favourite thing in the entire world, an authority figure in the ring!

Shane tells us that despite losing to RAW at Survivor Series they will no longer be considered the B-Show! He doesn’t really understand what losing means, does he?! He continues to talk about how he is proud of everyone on the Smackdown Live roster, with the exception of Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens!

Super Best Friends of Wrestling

Kevin & Sami ask Shane to man-up and apologise to them for leaving them off Team-Blue for Survivor Series! Shane naturally doesn’t feel like apologising, and instead wants to fire them but before he can get the words out Daniel Bryan comes out to offer an alternative way of punishing them; in a lumberjack match against the New Day!

Match 1: Shelton Benjamin vs Jey Uso

Now that Survivor Series is over we can get back to some regular booking again. This week we have Jey Uso against Shelton Benjamin. Good enough match, but too short to really capture the attention. Marred by constant interference from Chad Gable allows Benjamin to get the win.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin (by pinfall)

Owens & Zayn Try to Make Friends

After failing to woo Baron Corbin to be their friend, the super best friends of wrestling turn their attention to the glorious one, Bobby Roode! Roode not happy about the ‘betrayal’ from Sunday night, says he owes them both a receipt!

New Women on Smackdown Live!

Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan are now on Smackdown Live! Very similar to how it went down on RAW with Paiges’s return! You’d have to believe that the two invasions are connected somehow!?

Match 2: Hype Bros vs Bludgeon Brothers

Well that didn’t last long!

Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers (by pinfall)

Natalya tries to cut a promo backstage

Fuck me, she is terrible! I know I’ve said it before, but how can a person be employed for so long and yet be still so terrible at cutting a promo!? Even Alicia Foooooooooooooooxxxxx is better than this!

Time to be Phenomenal!

AJ Styles comes out and talks about his match with Brock Lesnar, says he’s go again with him! Remember, in Rocky 2 Rocky wins!

Turns his attention to Jinder Mahal! Calls out the modern day maharajah who appears, on screen! Says he will invoke he rematch at WWE Clash of Champions next month.  Styles then gets jumped by the Singh brothers. Naturally that beatdown didn’t last too long as AJ turns it about and hits one of them with a Styles Clash!

Rusev Day!

Owens & Zayn find Aiden English & Rusev backstage and try to convince them to show solidarity with them against the terrible authority. Will they join? We’ll find out later!

Match 3: Charlotte Flair vs Natalya – Smackdown Live Women’s Championship.

This has the feel of a dead rubber of a match. I am 100% sure Charlotte retains, just need to get Natalya out of the title picture, yaknow, kayfabe!

Natalya does get Charlotte into a nice sharp-shooter. Ooohh here comes the new women of Smackdown Live and they’re laying the Smackethdown on both their candy asses!

Winner: (Technically) Natalya (by disqualification) but I don’t think we’ll be reminded of that!

New week on Smackdown Live…

Next week we get AJ Styles vs the Singh Brothers in a 2-on-1 handicap match! Meh.

Match 4: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs The New Day (Lumberjack Match)

The super best friends are very aprehensive of the lumberjacks on the outside of the ring and rightfully so as Kofi Kingston is the first to be trown out of the ring but the lumberjacks do not do anything…  and a second time! But as Sami goes out to get him the lumberjacks pounce on him! Discrimination at its highest!

Sami goes flying over the top which leads to an accidental bump between Corbin & Roode and a mass brawl breaks out!

In the midst of the chaos Sami Zayn picks up the win with a nice roll up!

Winners: Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens (by pinfall)

After the match Rusev attacks Big-E to allow Kevin Owens flee but Sami Zayn gets caught be the New Day and he takes a beating from them.

As the show goes off the air we see Owens backstage with Bryan begging him not to fire him.. which he doesn’t, but instead tell Owens that he will go 1-on-1 with Randy Orton next week.

Very strange ending, seeing Owens literally begging on his knees for his job. Not sure I like it. Oh well, next week could be better!
