Spurs have made their fouth signing of the summer today with Serge Aurier signing from Paris Saint-Germain on Transfer Deadline Day. After signing Sanchez from Ajax, Gazzaniga from Southampton and Foyth from Estudiantes, Spurs have made some great deals in this transfer market!
This is a signing the Yid Army would have been waiting for all summer! The Ivorian International is a natural replacement for Kyle Walker as he offers a box-box style which will compliment the Spurs style of play. He will give Kieran Trippier competition for a starting spot, which is healthy in a squad fighting in four competitions!
Trippier usurped Kyle Walker towards the end of last season with good consistent performances but probably due to Trippiers attacking qualities benefiting the team more than Walker. As Spurs like to rotate their squad both players should see good game time. Competing in four competitions Spurs will need both fighting fit and contributing to the team effort. The question mark will come when big games arrive, who get’s the starting jersey? Time will tell!
Walker-Peters was impressive for Spurs against Newcastle on the opening day of the season. With Aurier coming to North London, it should see the England U-20 international go out on loan for the season.
